Something I was just reading over at the CMT blog got me thinking. It’s funny, I didn’t even clue in (how much was I paying attention?) how the newest members of Country Music Hall of Fame were not officially acknowledged. What were they thnking? Vince Gill, Ralph Emery and Mel Tillis definitely deserved to be recognized for all their hard work and contribution to country music.
The buzz around all this websites that I check out about country music are all questioning this and I am too!

Also questioning why very little was said about passing artists Porter Wagoner and Hank Thompson? They usually have a segment aknowledging all those who passe away.. but it was missing this year. I was dissapointed totally in the show. It felt more like a rock concert than a country show. The sound was off and it’s sad that this is what country music is coming to now with gunpowder, lead, LOUDE…, big flashy screens, and actors trying to woo a singing career.
PS… Sugarland is great, but are they really a duo? What duet do they perform? On the show Jennifer sanfg solo while they guy in back strummed his guitar.. is that a duet? This catagory has always confused me. Brooks & Dunn rarely sand together, and are in no sense a duo as far as singing goes. Many real singing duet partners have been shut out of this catagory for way to long.. like the Bellamy Brothers!!
