Billy Currington has cancelled over 100 dates on his tour in order to get treatment for trauma he endured during his childhood.In a recent People magazine article written by Beverly Keel, Currington reveals that he suffered physical abuse from his step father over the course of several years as a child. Billy apparently still has a lot of issues with anger to work on with the therapists at the treatment center.

This just goes to show how long something stays with you when it happens to you as a child. I hope Billy gets the help and peace of mind that he needs. It’s things like this that make us see that these country stars are still human and still have problems like you and me. Unfortunately, in Billy’s case, his problems are much greater.
